PG Tricentennial Prince George's County:
Over 300 years of History

Historic Places
Mount Lubentia
603 Largo Road, Upper Marlboro vicinity
Built in 1798 -- Mount Lubentia is a 2-1/2-story, brick plantation house; its hip roof has cresting between the chimneys, and its walls are laid in Flemish bond. It has exceptionally fine Federal-style decorative detail both exterior and interior. Mount Lubentia was built by Dennis Magruder of Harmony Hall. A unique eighteenth-century octagonal dairy, moved from a related plantation (Grader, now destroyed), stands on the grounds, as well as several farm outbuildings. Mount Lubentia is an outstanding example of Federal-style mansion architecture.
