The Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society’s Maryland and Washington, DC Chapters, the Laurel (MD) and Washington, DC Family History Centers, as well as the African American Special Interest Group sponsor a Black History Month Genealogy Conference on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Family History Center, 7200 Contee Road, Laurel, Maryland 20707, from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. The theme for the 2017 conference is “From the Archives to the Classroom with African-American Genealogy: The Crucial Role of Education in the History of African Americans”.  

The Committee Members are working diligently to provide an outstanding and informative conference experience for everyone.  We have experienced genealogists, historians, and others lined up as presenters. Therefore, please register online at:  aahgs-conf2017@wdcfhc.org.
