His loss of life will be a great void to all that knew and loved him. I had such a great respect for Les the 15 years I knew him as Admin Aide to the Historic Preservation Section. He would call, and I would respond my regular greeting "Historic Preservation Section, Sandy speaking", and he would respond back - well hello, Sandy Speaking. Little warm remembrances. I know Sharon, his family and the preservation community will have many tributes to his presence in our lives. God Bless.

As the internet volunteer, Les and I met via email before we met in person. We were both members of the Prince George's County Historical Society who were interested in getting the Society a web presence.

We started communicating in Sept. 2000. He had already purchased domain names and created a brief template and outline of what he'd like to see. In March 2001, he emailed from Cairo, Egypt additional information and details he'd like to see on our new web site.

On Aug. 26, 2001, he sent the history for the Saint George's Day Awards page.

He had an interest in history, but also a desire to use modern technology to move us forward.
