On Friday, January 6, 2017, at 7:30 p.m., the film entitled “Rosenwald” will be shown at Hope Lutheran Church, 4201 Guilford Drive, College Park.  The showing is co-sponsored by movies@hope  and the College Park Arts Exchange, in cooperation with the National Center for Jewish Film.  This film traces the life of Julius Rosenwald, president of Sears, Roebuck and Company, and his founding of the Julius Rosenwald Fund that brought about the construction (between 1918 and 1932) of approximately 5000 schools for African-American children throughout 15 states in the American South (including Maryland).  PGCHS historian Susan Pearl, author of “The Rosenwald Schools of Maryland,” will introduce the film, and will lead a discussion afterwards.

All are welcome; admission and refreshments are free.  If you have not yet seen this excellent film, this is your chance! And most of you who have already seen it will probably want to see it again!
