Hello Fellow History Lovers:

The Prince George’s County National History Day compettion is around the corner. Maybe one of our students will win the state and then the national competition! You can give support to these students by volunteering to be a judge at our local competition. The deadline to do so is quickly approaching, Feburary 16. If you’ve never done this, and you appreciate history, appreciate children, and like the idea of connecting the two, it’s a great deal of fun, and you learn, too! Thanks, Sealani Weiner & John Brunner

The rest of this information is forwarded from the public schooll coordinator National History Day (also known as NHD.)

Prince George’s County History Day is looking for judges for the 2018 competition and we would like you to consider volunteering for this wonderful opportunity. We are looking forward to this exciting exhibition of student work from all around the county. Students have been working hard on their projects for this year’s theme, “Conflict and Compromise in History” and we invite you to participate in this exciting judging experience!

Humanities scholars, teachers, librarians, museum professionals, and other experts serve as judges at the Prince George’s County and Maryland History Day competition, following guidelines established by National History Day. Categories include research papers, documentaries, dramatic performances, exhibits, and websites. Judges review projects, interview student contestants, determine the winners, and provide written, constructive feedback. Winners in each category will advance to the Maryland History Day contest with aspirations to reach the National History Day contest!

Orientation information for judges will be sent after registration closes.

Online Registration is open on our website, www.pgchd.com, click on the Judges’ page.
