Join the Prince George’s County Historical Society on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 7 PM for a conversation with Joseph Pruden as he talks about being young in Cheverly’s old Fourth Ward during the late 1950s and into the 1960s.

Joseph Pruden has lived in Cheverly since March 1957 when he and his family moved to Ward 4 from Fort Ord, California. After college and serving in the U.S. Army as a Military Intelligence Officer, Joseph made his home again in Cheverly with his wife Susan, where they reared another generation of the Pruden family and he is active and supportive of the local community. During his chat with John Peter Thompson, Joseph will talk about being a young man in old Ward 4, including adventures and activities that shaped his life, how families and neighborhood friends were always there to support each other, as well as the changes that happened in the 1960s that led to the end of official segregation.
