NATHANIA “NAY” BRANCH MILES is a native New Yorker and has been a Maryland resident for 40 plus years.  She is a life member of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., National Chapter Committee Chair, and is an officer, member and chairperson for the Prince George’s County Chapter.  Ms. Branch Miles is an author, lecturer, adjunct professor, researcher, and family historian writing books and articles on her family research (South and North Carolina, Georgia, and the Republic of Cape Verde), Prince George’s County history, and the American Civil War.  Nay is an active member of the community serving on the Maryland Governor’s Commission and Task Force on Black and Minority Health, as a Commissioner for the County’s Consumer Protection Commission and currently as a Commissioner for the Prince George’s County Historical Preservation Commission, along with being a member of several historical and genealogy societies.
